Paneer Tikka – Restaurant Style

Tandoori paneer tikka recipe can be cooked on a tandoor or tawa. A party without tandoori party starters is truly incomplete! The perfect blend of spices and smoky flavour of the marinated and tandoor-cooked paneer is just too awesome to describe.

Cook Time: 20 minutes
Yields: 20 tikkas

Ingredients

  • 20 paneer (cottage cheese) cubes
  • 1/2 cup thick curds (dahi)
  • 1 tsp ginger (adrak) paste
  • 1 tsp garlic (lehsun) paste
  • 2 tsp kashmiri red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp dried fenugreek leaves (kasuri methi)
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp chaat masala
  • 2 tbsp besan (bengal gram flour)
  • 1 tbsp mustard (rai / sarson) oil
  • salt to taste

Method

  1. Combine the curd, ginger paste, chilli powder, dried fenugreek leaves, garam masala, coriander, chaat masala, besan, Hot oil and salt in a deep bowl and mix well to prepare a marinade.
  2. Add the paneer, mix gently and keep aside to marinate for 15 minutes.
  3. Put paneer pieces on a skewer and then on a grilling plate pre heat the oven at 200 degree centigrade for 10 minutes
  4. Remove the paneer tikka from oven and serve hot tikkas with green coriander chutney.
