Biryani Mania
Hello my fellow Chatoras,
We meet again, with yet another blog post. I’m delighted and rejoicing for the fact that there are back to back food festivals and therefore so many blogposts every now and then.
Well, this is going to be one of the shortest blog post in the longest time but I hope you all enjoy it. While writing this, I literally went down the memory lane of my days as a PR professional of a 5 star hotel, wherein I used to write press release in the about few hours. Same goes for this post as well. Nevertheless, it’s all about good food. 🙂 I’m also happy with the fact that slowly and gradually, restaurants are coming up with different – different food festivals and there’s so much to explore for the food lovers. Recently, I was invited by Hotel Amer Palace, who are hosting a Biryani Mania.
Biryani, the quintessential Mughlai muse. And, if there are varieties of it in one food festival, that can be called as Biryani Mania! 🙂
Jharokha, Hotel Amer Palace is hosting Biryani Fest that puts the best biryani from across the country on one table. The 4 day lip smacking affair, which started on Thursday, will serve different varieties of biryanis, salads, raitas, chutney along with desserts.
Flavour of Mughal come alive. The rich aromatic smell of steaming hot Biryanis if that sounds a perfect treat, you have every reason to visit the Biryani Festival at Jharokha, Hotel Amer Palace . The Biryani festival offers a vast range of mouth watering specials with a fine mélange of vegetarian and non-vegetarian delectable Biryanis.
A scrumptious celebration is in the offering for the patrons of hot, spicy and delicious Indian-Mughlai dishes. Biryani, a classic dish of the Mughal Nizams, is an eye-catchy aromatic rice loved by all. A beautiful array of long-grained rice, tender chicken/ tempting vegetables/ marinated mutton and pungent spices studded with fresh mint and coriander, topped with caramelized onions, Dum cooked to perfection.
Fixed vegetarian and non-vegetarian Combo meals or go in for Ala Carte. Raise a toast with your welcome drink, sink your teeth into various types of biryani depending on the chef’s choice of the day or choose your own favourite, add it to a dash of delicious curries and cool raita and finish it off with desserts.
From Hyderabadi Dumpukht Biryani to Jalpari or Nargisi Biryani. There’s something unique for everyone.
Hyderabadi Dumpukht Biryani & Navratna Biryani were on the Menu and we were recommended to try the same. Both the Biryani’s were served in traditional Handi and were Dum cooked with a garnishing of Caramelized onions. The aroma & robust flavours coming from the handi can certainly make anyone tantalize.
The rice was cooked on low flame and therefore each and every piece of it was flavoursome. The Salan & Raita accompanied well with the Biryani, making it all the more divine.
We were then served with Phirni, which is a wonderful, creamy dessert made with ground rice combined with milk, cream, sugar and some saffron strands for flavouring and was on the Combo Meal.
The Biryani Fest at Jharokha, Amer Palace will give your taste buds an exquisite taste about various kinds of Biryani available across India. If you wish to indulge in piquant Biryanis, this is the place to be!
Happy Hogging!!
